i dont actually disagree with your specific IDX ideas - but there comments were closed on that page ;-) ... so i am making my comment here:
on the general issue of open technology standards ....
you were running the shop at MLS.ca, so please explain what the brilliant logic was to MANDATE a closed, inferior & proprietary data standard for web access to MLS?! (eg www.torontomls.net)
anyone who cares about standards (let alone data SECURITY!) should not be using MSIE! (microsoft internet explorer)
please explain how this lazy & foolish decision was reached at MLA.ca under your leadership there!
any website with valuable data should demand only the highest possible web standards (W3C validation; xhtml, css3, ajax; and only mpeg4/ISMA for any online media/streaming content; etc etc).
either you had a disgraceful CTO at MLA.ca or else you did not exercise your leadership responsibilities as CEO.
your election blogs offer excellent, detailed analysis of many issues! - keep that up! - so i think some explanation of that history is in order!
